pictures
I went to Georgia to visit the family this weekend,
and I took a bunch of pictures.

Here are some of my parents' animals -
Lizzie [boston terrier], Maggie [boxer], and TJ [cat]

Lizzie sitting at the front door

Stretching to get her rawhide off of the pool table:

Finally!

With her pink toy that she wanted me to throw ... constantly:

If you ignore her, she just chews it against
your leg and drops it on your foot:

She likes to chew a lot - when we went outside,
she picked up a stick and chewed it:

Kissing [or annoying?] Maggie:

Bugging TJ the cat - who looks extremely unimpressed:

Ken and I went to a Gamecock Kickoff Rally last night and had a great time meeting and greeting other USC fans [don't worry Chad - I'm still a Georgia fan first].

The coolest part was when we got to meet George Rogers!!

For those of you who don't know who he is, he won the Heisman Trophy in 1980 [Herschel Walker was 3rd that year but won it in 1982]. George also played for the Washington Redskins when they won the Super Bowl in 1983.

So here's my picture with the big man himself:

I'm wearing his Heisman Trophy ring and his Super Bowl ring - pretty cool!

The autograph on the bottom is from Jermale Kelly - a wide receiver who played for USC a few years ago. He went on to play for the Panthers one year and Tampa Bay one year - and then for Rhein Fire [NFL Europe]. Not a Heisman trophy winner, but not too shabby, either.

Ken also won a South Carolina football jersey signed by George. Awesome!

Overall, we had a good time, and we are looking forward to football season.

whistle while you work
I brought Macey into the office with me a few weekends ago - she liked it!

And here's where I spend the majority of my time.

It's normally not that messy, but I had just gotten a big office supply order, so it was kind of all over the place. Believe it or not - I do keep my office pretty clean, mom! :)

m.c. escher ...
... is one of my favorite artists, so I have a calendar with a work of art for each new day. Yesterday's piece is beautiful!!

Vase, from XXIV Emblemata, 1931
- a woodcut -

A woodcut is a method of printing in which an image is carved into the surface of a piece of wood, with the printing parts remaining level with the surface while the non-printing parts are removed, typically with chisels. The image is then inked by rolling over the surface with an inked roller, leaving ink upon the flat surface but not in the non-printing areas. Paper is then placed face-down on the woodblock and pressure is applied to the back, either by printing press or with hand-held tools such as a spoon or a ''baren'' (though any hard, slightly curved surface will do). The ink is transferred to the paper by the pressure, and the mirror image of the surface of the woodblock is printed. Multiple colors can be printed by keying the paper to a frame around the woodblocks (where one woodcut is used for each color).

So I went online to check it out and see if I could get a print of it, but the 5 places that had it use the term "request price." Oh well. One can dream.

wow
After losing a close friend to a drunk driving accident, Simple Plan recently wrote a song to raise awareness against drinking and driving ... well, I'll let the powerful video speak for itself.

Click here to see the video

The effect an accident such as this has on an entire family ... indescribable.

I need a raise ...
My boss and I went to a meeting this afternoon for the new development that he is planning called Villaggio Verde - for now, we are planning to have only residences with retail/restaurants to be added in the next 5 years.

Just look at the view of downtown Greenville and the Blue Ridge Mts!

Villaggio Verde will neighbor a beautiful development called Plantation on Pelham. We met and ate lunch at the clubhouse with a few realtors, builders and investors to get feedback on the current demand.

Let me just say that if I wasn't getting married and if I made quite a bit more than I make now, I would be all over these condos. They are going to be unbelievable!

Maybe for retirement years? Nah - I'm not getting ahead of myself here. Not at all.

almost 3 months later ...
This is way, way, WAY overdue, but I uploaded some of the pictures I took at my friend Stacey's wedding on May 29th. It was held at the Kittle House in Chappaqua, NY, and it was such a beautiful ceremony and reception. I'm honored to have been a part of her special day.

Click here to see the pictures

And to prove that I was there, here's a picture of me and the bride - I'm the one in red.

And here's the whole gang:

I can't remember her photographer's name, or I would credit them.

dear faithful readers
Don't worry - you're not going crazy. The vacation pictures have been moved. Sort of.

I needed to clean up this first page so that it wouldn't take so much time to load. In doing so, I archived everything previous to 7 posts ago.

So feel free to go to the "archives" section on the left-hand side of the page.

Or just be lazy and click
this link.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

ps - I just realized that I didn't have "comments" enabled on my blog for which I sincerely apologize. I have changed this setting, so please feel free to post comments, if you'd like. I'd love to hear from you!

stinker Macey
For those of you who think Macey is the most adorable puppy in the world who never does anything wrong ... you are sadly mistaken.

Yes, that is the lens cap for my Olympus camera.

Brat.

Luckily, the camera is okay, and a replacement cap only costs about $10. But that's what you get when you leave a bored dog in the house by herself.

Wow ... how much does this guy look like Christopher Reeve?

That's Brandon Routh as Clark Kent in the new Superman movie.

photography
The photography website is really coming together. I've spent a lot of time on it lately, and I'm proud of how it looks. I think less is more in this instance.

Upstate Event Photography

Now, all I need is some interest.
