| fun weekend getaway |
I'm going to Johnson City, Tennessee this weekend for a good friend's baby shower, and Ken has so graciously offered to put me up in the Carnegie Hotel and Spa. My mom is planning to go with me, as well, and I am so excited!

So not only do I have the best fiance in the world, I get to spend the weekend with some good friends and my mom in a wonderful hotel and spa. Manis and pedis and full-on relaxation, here we come!

| busy, busy, busy |
So what's been going on in my world?
1. I'm going back to school! I've applied to go to Greenville Tech to get an associate's degree in Computer and Information Technology with an emphasis in Network Systems Administration. Whew - that's a mouthful. So now I'll have a B.S. in Marketing Management and an Associate's degree in Network Systems Administration. I love it! All the paperwork is done. Now, I'm just waiting to see if I'm poor enough to qualify for financial aid (lottery funds) and how many of my credits will transfer in from Bob Jones. I am literally *so* excited about this ... just ask Ken.
2. We've been shopping a lot lately because my niece and almost all of my future nieces and nephews' birthdays are coming up in the next few weeks! I've gotta admit - buying toys and clothes for kids is fun. No worries ... I haven't been bitten by the baby bug, yet. Especially not with school for the next couple of years.
3. We went to the South Carolina v Alabama game this past Saturday. I'll have pictures to post tonight. Pictures of us ... happy ... before the game started. In other news, Georgia kicked UL Monroe's booty, so GO DAWGS!
4. Macey is doing fine - she's fat, but as soon as the weather cools down, we'll get our butts in gear. We were *way* too lazy this summer, and it's time to get back on track.
5. No wedding updates. Mom, Daddy, and I are going to Jekyll from Oct 14 - 16, and I plan to hire our photographer while I'm down there. At that time, we'll have our date set-in-stone and can start planning everything else. I'll be sending out packages in the next month or so with all hotel information, things to do, restaurants, etc. It's the least we can do for asking you all to travel for our wedding. Just a reminder - I do have a wedding blog that I occasionally remember to update. Click here to go there
I guess that's it. Now that I've sufficiently wasted 10 minutes, I'm going home.

Bob Jones University has a webcam!! Click here to see the updated picture. It was donated by the class of 2004. Which reminds me, I have no clue what my class gift was. |

I can't believe we missed this ... ------------- George Hincapie Day GREENVILLE, S.C. -- George Hincapie was born in New York, but he calls Greenville home. Friday night, his adopted hometown gave him a hero's homecoming. The town celebrated "George Hincapie Day," drawing hundreds of friends, family and fans, including one special friend and teammate, Lance Armstrong. Hincapie said he didn't even think people would show up for the parade. "It's still a bit shocking and nerve-wracking," said Hincapie. "I get nervous just thinking about it, but still, it's a wonderful thing." Hincapie is the only cyclist to be at Lance Armstrong's side for all seven of his Tour de France wins. "You're talking about one of my favorite people in the whole world," said Armstrong. "He's a great teammate and been around for a long time. We've done many things together -- many races since we were kids. He's cool. George is truly cool." A Discovery Channel crew was following Hincapie all day Friday and has been for days for a special featuring Hincapie and his Greenville home scheduled to air sometime in December. ------------- Lance Armstrong was in Greenville, and I didn't even know it. I really need to start reading and watching the news on a regular basis. click here for Hincapie's site and thoughts about the parade |

Rest in peace, Mrs. Dorothy Nellis. May God hold you in His arms and say, "Welcome home, my child."
Our death is not an end if we can live on in our children and the younger generation. For they are us, our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life. ~Albert Einstein |
