| update on life |
Job - I got a new job. I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am about this. My current job offers no benefits of any kind and no means of promotion or self-improvement. My new job will consist of full benefits, more vacation than I've ever had, more Holidays, better hours, and much room for advancement. The leading partner has even offered to send me back to school if I so choose. The atmosphere is a little more professional than my current office (no more mid-day posts), but I am fully looking forward to this new opportunity. Exciting and scary all at the same time.
School - I am still fully planning to go back to school for computer programming this January, but if I find that I'm not really cut out for that, I have the option to go back for accounting and have it paid for. I'm going to wait until I get acclimated with this new job before I make any decisions, but it's good to know that the opportunity is there.
Animals - Henrietta the Hermit Crab is doing good, I guess. She's still alive, but she's really lazy. The only time she crawls around her cage is when I put her outside, but now it's too cold to go outside, so I guess she'll be sleeping all day. I think part of it is due to the fact that Macey can look in her cage. I think I'm going to have to put her out of Macey's reach, because wouldn't you freak out if you came out of your shell to see a big, snotty nose sniffing at your house? Yeah, me too. Macey is still the most wonderful dog in the world, other than the fact that she has massive amounts of hair falling off her body. Winter's almost here - shouldn't she be growing more hair? Quite frustrating, but a fact of life.
Wedding - We were able to get so much done with the wedding planning last weekend, so now I need to get my rear in gear and work on the information packages for everyone who may or may not be coming. The distance might hinder some people from coming, so I'm going to try to get those packets out early so that everyone will know what to expect. We are not assuming that everyone we're inviting is going to come, because it's 5 hours away, but we would love to have at least our families there. If there are people out there who simply can't make it, we understand. It's bound to happen, and that's okay.
Honeymoon - We finally decided on a honeymoon - Montana and Wyoming. We're both very excited about this, and it seems like something that will suit both of us. We'll be planning that over the next few months, so Frommer's and The Travel Channel are going to become our two best friends.
Seasons - I can't even believe that Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner. I haven't even started my Christmas shopping, and that's scary. I have, however, started my Christmas wish list, and it is a very short list. Of big-ticket items. How is it that when you're younger, you can make a list of eight hundred items and still think of more, but when you're older, you can't think of anything that costs less than $200?
So that's a quick and boring catch-up on my life. |

| Deer Farm |
Ever seen a deer farm? Me either. But we passed one on the way down, so we stopped on the way back home to get some shots.
Unfortunately, the deer weren't close enough to show up that well on camera, but there they are. Grazing in a field, behind a fence.
Interesting.

| weekend trip |
We had a good time in Jekyll this weekend, and we got a lot done. It was more business than pleasure, but we still managed to eat loads of great food, do tons of shopping, and spend good quality time together.

I will try to upload and post the rest of my pictures tonight. And I will also continue to work on Sydnei's birthday weekend videos.
And a belated Happy 31st Birthday to Chad!! When did we get so old, Big Bro? |

| just a couple |
It's not much, but here are 2 short videos from Sydnei's birthday weekend until I can get the rest done.
:: turn on sound ::
Who's In Trouble - when Sydnei realized that there was a chunk taken out of the carrot that she was supposed to feed "hossy," she decided that it was someone's fault. Watch as she goes through the list of people who are in trouble, starting with Lizze, who is apparently always in trouble.
Keli and the Horse-Donkey - no explanation needed.
I promise I will get the rest of them done early next week when we get back from Jekyll Island. Have a great weekend, everyone!!

| movies |
I've downloaded all of Sydnei's birthday party movies, but I need to compile them into a much smaller video. Partly due to the fact that it takes about an hour to download the whole thing.
So to tide you over, here's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen ...
Sydnei's 1st Experience on a 4-Wheeler (Christmas 2004)
ps - can you believe how much she's grown in less than a year? |

Today, we're heading down to Georgia for Sydnei's 2nd birthday party, and I am so excited. She is such an amazing little girl, and our family hasn't been the same since she came along. She has added so much beauty and humor to our lives, and I'm thankful that she is a part of our family.
I still can't believe that she's 2 years old!
In honor of her birthday party, here's the video that Ken made last year - click here to see it.
We love you, baby girl! |

| Rules for the Dog |
1. Dogs are never permitted in the house. The dog stays outside in a specially built wooden compartment named, for very good reason, the dog house.
2. Okay, the dog can enter the house, but only for short visits or if his own house is under renovation.
3. Okay, the dog can stay in the house on a permanent basis, provided his dog house can be sold in a yard sale to a rookie dog owner.
4. Inside the house, the dog is not allowed to run free and is confined to a comfortable but secure metal cage.
5. Okay, the cage becomes part of a two-for-one deal along with the dog house in the yard sale, and the dog can go wherever he pleases.
6. The dog is never allowed on the furniture.
7. Okay, the dog can get on the old furniture but not the new furniture.
8. Okay, the dog can get up on the new furniture until it looks like the old furniture and then we'll sell the whole works and buy new furniture upon which the dog will most definitely not be allowed.
9. The dog never sleeps on the bed. Period.
10. Okay, the dog can sleep at the foot of the bed.
11. Okay, the dog can sleep alongside you, but he's not allowed under the covers.
12. Okay, the dog can sleep under the covers but not with his head on the pillow.
13. Okay, the dog can sleep alongside you under the covers with his head on the pillow, but if he snores he's got to leave the room.
14. Okay, the dog can sleep and snore and have nightmares in bed, but he's not to come in and sleep on the couch in the TV room, where I'm now sleeping. That's just not fair.
15. The dog never gets listed on the census questionnaire as "primary resident," even if it's true. |
